Just updated my Facebook timeline to something a little better – it’s only temporary though as I want one with a better, brighter photo, but the camera concept will still be the same, just put together better.

Here’s the original ‘Scamp’ – if you can call it that.

I sent a photo I took into the local paper a few months ago, and the other day I get a call telling me I’m going to be published. Sweet.

This is another video I made of my niece and nephew. I’m starting to accidentally document the growth of them, but hey, when they’re older they are going to love this stuff!

Chris and I filmed this “advert” for the Co-Op driving insurance aimed at young drivers. What a cracking feeling it was getting an email from the seeding company unknowingly asking me to publish it. When I started The Cheese Grater in the first year of ad school, this was one of my goals: to get to a point where I get asked to seed my own stuff on my own site… and get paid. Dope.

Imagine how life would be if one day you woke up and all your favourite social media sites had disappeared. All your friends, photos, messages and events. Poof, gone.

‘Up in smoke’ is the photo-set’s concept of networks literally going up in smoke. They’re visualised  purely on the colours found within their logos.

Try guessing all of them.

Just so you get the gist of how I got to this image, I’ll show you the unedited, the inverted and the colour version, as well as the set up used to achieve this.

The set up was pretty simple as you can see in the image above. What isn’t in the image above, but is very important, is to make sure you shield the flash from hitting the background. I had a magazine held in the way so I could direct it at the smoke without having light fall off behind it.

I had this idea about a week ago to make a photoset of what cuddly toys get up to after dark. The two routes I was thinking of taking were 1. Macabre and 2. Cute. I’ll probably end up mixing the two.

So anyway, I hear about a Behind The Scenes competition and I decided to go for it. The gist is that you make a video of a photo or video shoot. I quickly put one together, but Ideally I’d like to do another, really good one that I plan from the beginning.

Chris and I went on our first official video shoot the other day in Brighton. When I say first video shoot, I mean a shoot that we organised, casted, location scouted, filmed and edited. There’s a mouthful. It was to promote the new Your Moments competition, which I suggest you enter because the prizes you can win are pretty great.

Team business cards have arrived. Imagine the weight of dark matter, mixed with a small rectangle. That’s what these bad boys are like; 600gsm, matt laminated. They are ridiculous.
