Honda has outdone themselves with the use of their YouTube page, featuring various sections, all interactive and very cool, no wonder Honda’s campaign is the work of W+K. It’s called ‘Follow Happy’ and it highlights their way of working, but more importantly, their muse. When Honda is in doubt, happiness is their guide. After all, the pursuit of happiness is the reason anyone does anything.

I did have to do some digging around to actually Follow Happy, but after hunting around it was quite cool to play around with the campaign as a whole (the ‘Experiment’ tab on the YouTube page is quite fun, and a good use of pop-up windows)

Anyway, check out their YouTube page (it’s dope), which starts you off on a journey of happiness with the use of a dog and your computer’s microphone, so make sure to allow access.

This is quite phenomenal. A collaboration by KSU and the Nuclear Physics Group, their website allows you to make a unique melody by selecting any Isotope in the Chart of Nuclides. Each Isotope has a unique set of various excited states and decay patterns which create it’s own musical fingerprint for you to manipulate. Put a few together, change the tempo and sit back and listen to some nuclear music. Find it here.

Len Chi is a bloody genius. The way this has been filmed and the whole concept of it is beautiful. It’s touching, thought provoking and it even has a quote from Steve Jobs in it.

I posted this yesterday on The Cheese Grater yesterday. I wanted to post it here as well because I happen to quite like it. The idea behind it was to draw awareness to third world hunger issues and instead of the usual heartache and guilt trips that we get fed, a different approach was taken. If you’ve watched the video already, you’ll know what I’m on about. It’s mocking both the obesity and hunger issues, but in the jokey kind of way that I find actually connects more emotionally because of the humour used.

They have a very convincing website, and because of this it’s one of the very few charity websites that I spend more than 5 minutes on. It also draws you in, making you think this insane idea is actually for real until you reach the (not so) small print page that directs you here, giving the game away.

Charities should get off the “Look at this kid eating and looking sad, feel bad yet? Give us monies!” approach and take this as an example to make better, content filled videos that people will actually want to talk about and share. Though a few more videos and a better build up around the campaign could have made a bigger impact. A legitimate TV spot would have been hilarious.

Above is some footage caught in London of the Buddies at work. I’ve come to believe they’re apart of a First Direct campaign to show that their customer service is better than the other banks, which makes sense as these guys will really brighten up your day!

How to get them to be your buddy, i’m not quite sure about. Maybe you just ask them, or maybe they can sense you need a buddy, in which case they take to the sky flying around looking for an appropriate place to land before slapping your life with a whole lotta awesome!
